With less than three weeks left in the IPL 2021 Phase 2 in the UAE, Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals have suffered a huge injury crisis. Their in-form England batsman Liam Livingstone has suffered a shoulder injury and is doubtful for Phase 2. It comes after two England stars Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes being ruled out for the remainder of the season.
Liam Livingstone, who left IPL 2021 midway during India’s COVID-19 crisis didn’t feature in the Rajasthan Royals games in the first half. But with Jos Buttler out, the England batsman had a major role to play. But the star batsman has suffered a shoulder injury while playing for Lancashire in the County Championship. As per the Lancashire county cricket team, Liam Livingstone damaged his shoulder while diving to stop a boundary. He was immediately replaced.
More Red Rose injury woe as Liam Livingstone appears to have damaged a shoulder diving to stop a boundary. He's gone off the field and is replaced by Richard Gleeson.

IPL 2021 Phase 2
This comes at a time when Liam Livingstone is in a great form. Called up for the Pakistan series, he slammed a 43-ball 103 in the first T20I while in The Hundred, he finished as the top scorer with 348 runs in nine innings. He had a strike rate of 178.46 during the tournament.
His fine form also prompted cricket greats such as Shane Warner to advocate his Test call-up during the India series. However, now that he has suffered the injury, it is likely to keep him out for at least a month. That will mean, he is set to miss the first few games of IPL 2021. But if it turns out to be worse, he could be ruled out of the entire tournament as England won’t risk him before the T20 World Cup.
On Monday, Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore were dealt a blow when all-rounder Washington Sundar was ruled out due to a finger injury.
