ENG beat WI in T20 World Cup: West Indies all out for their lowest T20 score by in WC, 2nd lowest overall

Defending champions Kieron Pollard West Indies got off to the worst possible start in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 when they got all-out on 55 against England in their first match of the Super 12 here at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai on Saturday. England chased down the target in 9th over to hand Windies 6 wickets defeat. This was West Indies’ 2nd lowest total in the history of T20 cricket. Interestingly three out of their four lowest totals came agame England. This was also their lowest total in the T20 WC.

West Indies got off to a bad start that only worsened as the game progressed. West Indies lost three wickets in the first five overs as England bowlers came firing on cylinders. The Kieron Pollard-led kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were soon found reeling at 44/7 in the 11th over. West Indies had some hopes from Pollard and Russell but the duo also met the same fate as the side was folded for 55/10 in 14.2 overs. Adil Rashid picked four wickets in the game.
