Kohli was seen checking out from the Airport along with his wife Anushka Sharma and daughter Vamika and is likely to spend some quality time with the family in his extended break from the cricket field. However, the 32-year-old will be back in action as a captain in the 2nd Test against New Zealand beginning on December 03, 2021. As reported by InsideSport, Virat Kohli has been rested for the 1st Test and will return to lead the side in the 2nd Test after BCCI approved an extended break.
Meanwhile, Ajinkya Rahane has been appointed to lead the side in the first Test with Cheteshwar Pujara appointed as the vice-captain. India’s newly appointed T20I captain Rohit Sharma has been rested for the entire Test series against Kiwis. Jasprit Bumrah, M Shami, and Rishabh Pant have also been rested for the Test series.
