Indian pacer Harshal Patel brought about his own downfall on Sunday with a bizarre dismissal during the first innings. Patel became just the second Indian to get out hit-wicket after KL Rahul after he dragged his bat out on the stumps during the IND vs NZ 3rd T20I.
Harshal Patel looked in fine form on Sunday but brought an end to his stay at the crease in the more bizarre fashion. Harshal Patel unintentionally hit his wicket in order to carve out a boundary off Lockie Ferguson. The RCB star looked in stunning touch and hit a huge six of Ferguson previously, but an attempted late cut brought an end to his stay at the crease. He thus became only the second player after now Indian vice-captain KL Rahul to be dismissed hit wicket in T20Is. Watch the video here:
#IndVsNZ A very strange dismissal as #HarshalPatel is out hit the wicket! 2nd Indian after #KLRahul to be out in this manner. Harshal was standing very far back in his crease. pic.twitter.com/jctmbfafDD

Captain Rohit Sharma continued his love affair with the Eden gardens as he led form the front to help India post 184 in their 20 overs. Sharma scored a fine half-century, with cameos from Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, Venkatesh Iyer and Deepak Chahar helping the Men in Blue post a competitive total.
