India vs Australia: Rohit Sharma sends big warning to Pakistan with 50 against Australia

India opener Rohit Sharma slammed a 36-ball fifty against Australia in the second warmup match here in Dubai. Sharma slammed five fours and two huge sixes in his quick-fire fifty runs knock and looks top notch just ahead of the big match against arch-rival Pakistan. India will begin its T20 World Cup campaign against Pakistan in Dubai on October 24, Sunday.

Rohit Sharma scored an unbeaten 60 off 41 deliveries before retiring to give some match practice time to young Ishan Kishan, and others. Chasing 153, India was off to a flying start as KL Rahul (39 off 31) and R Sharma added 68 runs for the opening wicket. KL Rahul was dismissed in the tenth over by Ashton Agar while Sharma continued his red-hot form and slammed a 36-ball fifty.

Earlier, opting to bat Australia had a shaky start as they were reduced to 11/3 with David Warner, Aaron Finch, and Mitch Marsh going back cheaply. Steve Smith (57) and G Maxwell (37) resurrected Australia’s innings before Marcus Stoinis (41* off 25) played a handy cameo and helped his side post 152/5. R Ashwin picked up two wickets, while R Jadeja, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, and R Chahar returned with one wicket each.

Virat Kohli-led India will begin its WC T20 campaign with the much-awaited high-tension clash against arch-rival Pakistan on October 24, Sunday in Dubai. Both teams are placed in Super 12 Group 2 alongside New Zealand and Afghanistan with two teams from Group A and Group B yet to be decided.
