Team India star Shikhar Dhawan is looking forward to turning his dreams into reality following a tumultuous divorce with his wife Ayesha Mukherjee. The couple were married for eight years, with Mukherjee having two daughters from her previous marriage. The couple had a son and named him Zoravar.
Just hours after Ayesha Mukherjee detailed her ordeal and announced to the world that she was parting ways with Shikhar Dhawan, the Team India opener took a completely different take on things. The Delhi Capitals star took to Instagram and shared a picture of him flexing his muscles with an important message in the caption, suggesting his focus remains on the upcoming IPL 2021 season.
Dhawan wrote, “Kisi bhi mukaam ko paane ke liye poora jaan, samjh, dil lagta hai. Pyaar hona chaiyeh apna kaam ke towards tabhi barkhat aati hain aur enjoyment bhi” which translates to “To reach a certain goal, one needs to give in their heart, life and understanding into it. There should be love towards the work which will lead to prosperity and enjoyment.” He ended his post with a simple message, “Keep on working hard to turn your dreams into reality.”
Shikhar Dhawan’s post comes in after Ayesha Mukherjee announced the couple’s divorce in a long heartfelt Instagram post.
“Funny how words can have such powerful meanings and associations. I experienced this first hand as a divorcee. The first time I went through a divorce I was soooooooo scared. I felt like I had failed and I was doing something so wrong at that time,” Ayesha Mukherjee wrote.
“I felt as if I had let everyone down and even felt selfish. I felt that I was letting my parents down, I felt that I was letting my children down and even to some extent I felt as if I was letting God down. Divorce was such a dirty word,” she added.
It should be noted that Ayesha Dhawan’s profile has been deleted and there has been no mention of Shikhar Dhawan on the new profile under Aesha Mukerji’s name. While, the India opener hasn’t confirmed or denied the reports, the post does seem to be a backhanded remark at the situation.
The news comes in at an inconvenient time for the Delhi opener, who is hoping to be named in India’s squad for the T20 World Cup. Despite performing excellently in the IPL over the past few years , he had an average campaign in the Sri Lanka series, in which he led the side. With Prithvi Shaw and KL Rahul in excellent form, his chances of making it to the squad are in question. He is currently in the UAE< preparing for the Phase of the IPL 2021 with the Delhi Capitals.
