IPL 2021: Amit Mishra four wickets away from equalling Lasith Malinga as highest wicket-taker of IPL

Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will take on each other in their opening contest during the second leg of IPL 2021 in UAE. The match on September 22, Wednesday, at Dubai International Stadium will be a huge opportunity for Delhi Capitals’ senior player Amit Mishra. In the upcoming match, DC leg spinner could equal Lasith Malinga as the highest wicket-taker of IPL.

The 38-year old has featured in 154 innings in the IPL and has taken a total of 166 wickets. He is just four wickets short of equaling Lasith Malinga’s record of 170 wickets, which is also the record of most wickets in the IPL.

Mishra has been playing IPL since 2008 and has played for various franchises- Delhi Daredevils (DC now), Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad and finally to Delhi Capitals (DC) now. The leggie has 5/17 as his best bowling figure. In his IPL journey, he has taken four fourfers and one fifer. Besides, the veteran player has most hat-tricks in the tournament. Besides, he holds an economy of 7.35.

Mishra has been a part of the Delhi franchisee since 2015. In the first leg of the tournament, he played four matches and scalped six wickets.
