Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) former skipper Dinesh Karthik has begun training with the team in UAE ahead of Phase 2 of IPL 2021. As the senior KKR player undertook his first training session in the nets at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, he was seen in fine touch. Amid the range of shots that came from Karthik’s willow, his reverse sweep six made the headlines. With the unique powerful hit, he nearly replicated Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Glenn Maxwell’s signature shot.
In a video shared by KKR on Instagram, the two and a half minute long video featured Dinesh Karthik talking about KKR’s journey in the first leg. The right handed player is optimistic of KKR performing well in the upcoming contest where the franchise will aim at winning one match at a time.
The 36-year played a variety of shots- defense, drives, aerial shots that were spread all over the ground.
In the first leg of the tournament, Karthik played seven matches and amassed 123 runs. He returned with an economy of 30.75.
