IPL 2021 – MI vs DC: Hardik Pandya receives heart-warming send-off from son Agastya, all-rounder hopes for change in fortunes

Mumbai Indians need Hardik Pandya to fire and the all-rounder received the perfect pre-game cheer ahead of the game against Delhi Capitals. Hardik, along with Krunal, who has also seen his returns hit a sinking low spend some quality time with the former’s son Agastya before making their way to the coach. With the IPL 2021 playoff race going down to the wire, Mumbai need their Pandya brothers to fire especially against a Delhi side who have already qualified.

In a heartwarming video shared by Mumbai Indians ahead of the game, Agastya, Hardik Pandya’s son, giving his dad and uncle Krunal Pandya a send-off as they make their way to the game. Hardik held Agastya in his arms as they walked through the corridors, before smothering him with kisses before boarding the coach. Krunal Pandya also enjoyed a heartwarming moment with his nephew, waving to the camera before joining Hardik.

Hardik Pandya looked in good spirits and it will be crucial for Mumbai Indians and Team India that the all-rounder carries it into the field. Hardik has struggled with injuries and lack of form and coach Mahela Jayawardene confirmed that it was unlikely that he would bowl in the ongoing IPL 2021.

Hardik got a breather after starring in Mumbai’s win over PBKS last time out, scoring an unbeaten 40 to see off a tricky run chase. The 27-year-old had struggled to get going but stuck in before shifting gears in the final overs to seal a much-needed win for the defending champions.

Mumbai are sixth with five wins in 11 games and need to get onto a winning run to make it to the IPL 2021 playoffs. A win over DC will give them a headstart in the IPL 2021 playoffs race, placing them at 4th, two points ahead of Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings.
