IPL 2021 Orange Cap: After DC’s Shikhar Dhawan, PBKS’ KL Rahul completes 400 runs

Punjab Kings captain KL Rahul has become the second batsmen to complete 400 runs in IPL 2021. He achieved the feat while playing against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday. Unfortunately, he departed for just 21 runs. He averages 57+ in the tournament with as many as 4 half-centuries.

Shikhar Dhawan continues to top the leaderboard, He has amassed over 400+ runs in the tournament and is the only player in IPL 2021 to breach the above mark. He has scored as many as three fifties in the tournament. His phenomenal average is 45+ & his strike rate stands at 131+.

Meanwhile, Sanju Samson has also entered the top 5 list among batsmen with his sensational knock against Delhi Capitals. He smashed a fifty off just 39 balls comprising 7 boundaries. He ended up scoring 70 runs off just 53 balls but fell short of support from the end. The right-handed batsman has also completed 300+ runs in the Indian Premier League.

Rules for IPL 2021 Orange Cap

  1. The Orange Cap is offered to the leading run-scorer of the season.
  2. The batsman with the most runs in the tournament during the season would wear the Orange Cap while in the field.
  3. In case of a tie, the batsman with a better strike rate is awarded the Orange Cap.
  4. The Orange Cap owner who is fielding is allowed to wear the Orange Cap till the end of the innings even if an opposition batsman has overtaken his runs.
