IPL 2021: Rajasthan Royals’ Shivam Dube reveals why he was warming bench says, ‘Team combination was the reason’

Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Shivam Dube, who played a match-winning knock for his team in the match against Chennai Super Kings revealed why he was benched by RR team mangement. He said that it was the team combination that the captain and coaches wanted to play. The left-hand batsman was delighted that he could perform when he got the opportunity.

It was Shivam’s comeback game and he played a match-winning knock when asked how tough was it to warm the benches. “This knock was much need for me as well as my team. This knock is for my team. We need to play good cricket in the remaining two matches to qualify. It was really important to win today’s game. Talking about warming the bench, it’s about the team, What combination team needs. It is on the support staff, coaches and the captain. So I was waiting for my chance and I got one and I performed.”

Shivam Dube scored 64 runs in 44 balls with the help of three sixes and six fours. He batted with a strike rate of 152 in high scoring thriller.

When asked why he did not bowl bowled in the game he said, “I think you need to ask Sanju for this I am not the right person for this. I think we had five bowlers and Sanju was rotating them very well. So, did not have any space to bowl so.”

“Any team needs a good start. Yashasvi and Lewis were amazing, especially Yashasvi. The way he was waiting it was something else. We need that start today and we had it and thus we could finish the match today.”
