IPL 2021: Sanju Samson declares ‘Rajasthan Royals fittest team in the IPL’, confident of making it to playoffs

Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson has expressed that RR is the fittest team in IPL 2021. RR is ranked 5th in the points table after the first half of the IPL. Samson is also very confident about the Royals making it to the playoffs.

“I have been with RR from the age of 18. I have seen a lot of Indian talent coming in and going on to play for India like Sakariya did. We give a product to the Indian team. That’s our mindset and that’s how we pick our team. We have to be the fittest team in the IPL,” Samson told TOI.

Rajasthan Royals’ chances of making it to playoffs

Under the leadership of Sanju Samson, Rajasthan Royals have won three games out of seven in the first half of IPL 2021. Their net-run rate is -0.190. Rajasthan have six points in their kitty and need 10 more points from the remaining seven games to qualify.

Things RR need to do to qualify for playoffs

If RR want to qualify for the playoff, their captain Sanju Samson needs to continue his good form in IPL 2021 phase 2. They will be missing the service of star players like Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer and Jos Buttler. Thus their Indian core needs to fire from word go. RR will be counting on Evin Lewis, who will be coming after a great performance in the CPL 2021. Their star all-rounder Chris Morris was in top form in the first half, RR will want him to continue the same.

Sanju Samson was named the captain of the Rajasthan Royals ahead of IPL 2021. So far he has scored 277 runs in seven games with a century in it as a captain. His personal form has improved ever since he took the captaincy however, he will aim to take his team forward in the 2nd phase of the IPL.

“Things are much clear. It’s important to go into the team with a clear mind. There will be no doubts about the selection when IPL resumes,” Samson said.
