IPL 2021: Virat Kohli & MS Dhoni seen having long conversation before toss, was it about T20 World Cup?

Former India skipper MS Dhoni and current captain Virat Kohli are known to have a great bond irrespective of their jersey colours in the IPL. On Friday, as the sand storm hit Sharjah forcing the toss to be delayed, RCB’s Kohli had a long chat — in fact for about 35 minutes — with CSK skipper.

While any fan will play a fortune or wish to be a fly to listen to the conversation between the two, the cameras panned and remained fixed on them. MS Dhoni has been roped in as the mentor for the T20 World Cup which will be Virat Kohli’s last T20 tournament as India skipper.

With Virat Kohli also deciding to step down as the RCB skipper, the CSK vs RCB clash on Friday could be the last time the two captain will face off each other at the toss. MS Dhoni’s IPL career is also under the scanner with the IPL 2022 mega auction coming up. While both the player and the franchise haven’t opened up about that, it could very well be MS Dhoni’s last IPL campaign as a player.

However, amid all, the T20 World Cup takes precedence as MS Dhoni will be returning to the Team India dressing room after the 2019 World Cup, albeit as a mentor. While a lot has been talked about MS Dhoni’s appointment, no doubt, he will be a great presence in the Team India dressing room as skipper Virat Kohli and soon tobe captain Rohit Sharma share a great rapport with the two-time World Cup-winning captain.
