PBKS vs RR in IPL 2021: Arshdeep Singh takes five wickets haul, jumps to top 5 in Purple Cap leaderboard

Arshdeep Singh on Wednesday took a five-wicket haul against Rajasthan Royals. His excellent performance helped Punjab Kings restrict RR to 185 runs in their allotted 20 overs. The youngster took the wickets of Evin Lewis, Liam Livingstone, Mahipal Lomror who looked dangerous. He wrapped up his five wickets haul with wickets of Chetan Sakariya and Kartik Tyagi.

Arshdeep Singh is one of the youngest players to take a five-wicket haul in IPL. The 22-year-old joins Jaidev Unadkat and Alzarri Joseph on the list. Also, he now has the best figures by an uncapped Indian player in IPL. Others are Ankit Rajpoot and Harshal Patel.

As per Cricbuzz, the only other bowler before Arshdeep Singh to take a five-wicket haul in IPL against RR is PBKS’ head coach Anil Kumble – 5/5 in Cape Town in 2009.
