T20 World Cup: Shoaib Akhtar reveals Pakistan’s favourite Indian batsman, calls him India’s Inzamam-Ul-Haq

Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar is all praise for the Indian cricket team as he said that Indian stars have a huge fan base in Pakistan. Akhtar also revealed that Pakistani fans admire Rohit Sharma more than India captain Virat Kohli. He said that Rohit is being called India’s Inzamam-Ul-Haq for his timing while batting and his lazy elegance.

“Today, there are no Pakistanis who say that India does not have a good team. They appreciate it openly. They consider Virat Kohli is a great player and Rohit Sharma even greater. People here in Pakistan say, ‘he is the Inzamam-Ul-Haq of India’. People appreciate Rishabh Pant, for the way he had played in Australia. Then there is Suryakumar Yadav. He is being appreciated too. So, Pakistan holds a very good narrative about India,” Shoaib Akhtar revealed in a conversation with Zee TV.

Rohit Sharma is often compared to Inzamam-Ul-Haq for his batting style and the timing of his shot which resembles Pakistan great.

Virat Kohli’s Team India will take on Babar Azam’s Pakistan side in their first game of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 here at the Dubai International Stadium, Dubai on Sunday, October 24. Team India will be high on confidence after winning two warm-up matches against Australia and England while Pakistan lost their last warm-up game against South Africa but they had emerged victorious against West Indies in the first one. Rohit Sharma will be India’s vice-captain.

“If you look at my videos, they are not on the ground of hate. I believe that as a former cricketer, a brand ambassador and as a human being, that my comments should be balanced. People say that the comments I make is to make money. That is not true. I have so many fans in India. I am a lucky Pakistani who Indian love so much. There is no doubt about that. I don’t want to hurt their sentiments or mine,” Akhtar said.
