After gifting skipper Virat Kohli with a superb victory on Friday, Team India celebrated his 33rd birthday. For the first time, Kohli played on his birthday and his teammates made it a memorable occasion for him, thrashing Scotland by 8 wickets in a crucial march.
Ishan Kishan, Varun Chakravarthy and Rishabh Pant covered him in cake frost with the whole team coming together to celebrate his 33rd birthday after the win. It was also an end of a tough two weeks for the team.

First, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah pulled off a scintillating bowling performance, dismissing Scotland for 85. Jadeja bagged career-best figures in T20Is with 3/15 while Shami too returned with identical numbers. Bumrah bagged two wickets for just 10 runs.
Then KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma gave India an explosive start, bringing up 50 runs in just 3.5 overs. Rahul smashed fastest 50 of T20 World Cup 2021 off just 18 balls as India chased the target in 6.3 overs. And then the party began.
The team was heavily and harshly criticised by the media, fans and former cricketers after their embarrassing 10-wicket loss to Pakistan and 8-wicket loss to New Zealand. Skipper Virat Kohli and Mohammed Shami were targeted by trolls on social media.
“A dominating performance, something that we were striving to do again. Now it will be interesting to see what happens on 7th (November). Don’t want to say a lot about today’s performance, we know what we can do,” said Kohli after the win,” Virat Kohli said at the post-match presentation.
“We spoke about the 8-10 over bracket before the start, didn’t want to really go too hard because if you lose wickets, then an extra 20 balls could cost. We thought that if they play naturally, runs will come quickly,” said Kohli after the win.
